What is recycled polyester?

Recycled polyester material is made from polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is mainly found in plastic bottles. Recycled polyester is made entirely from used plastic bottles.

Facts

Recycled plastic bottles reduce waste that would otherwise have to be landfilled

Use 33-53% less energy in production than normal polyester

Eliminates the need for petroleum (petroleum)

60 million plastic bottles go to waste every day around the world

How is the content created?

The bottles are crushed

Melted in threads

Texture is added

Woven in fabric

1. The used PET bottles are cleaned, dried and crushed into small flakes.

2. These flakes are then melted in liquid and passed through a spinning machine to form yarn threads. They are so twisted.

3. The threads are put through a machine that compresses them to create the desired texture.

4. The yarn is twisted, dyed and woven into fabric.

Why do we love recycled polyester?

Recycled polyester is certified by the Global Recycled Standard*. It contributes to the cycle of fashion. It gives new life to old materials that are not biodegradable and would otherwise go to waste.

Because of its strength, durability and versatility.

*Global Recycled Standard is a product standard for monitoring and verifying the content of recycled materials in the final product. This applies to the entire supply chain with the aim of increasing the use of recycled materials in products and reducing/eliminating the harm caused by its production.
